Swim Beaches

Canyon Lake, Texas

The coast isn’t the only place to enjoy sandy beaches and a refreshing swim—just head to Canyon Lake. The calm, crystal waters are a great way to cool off from the summer heat. Here are the primary swim beaches on Canyon Lake:

Swim Beach #1

Located just outside of Canyon Park is Swim Beach #1. This park and beach area feature a sandy shoreline and a roped-off, designated swimming area. There’s a wide stretch of sand to accommodate the beach’s popularity.

Beachgoers enjoy picnic tables, grills, a volleyball court, tetherball, and soccer goals. You will also find plenty of parking and beautiful views of Canyon Lake.

Swim Beach #1 is located on Canyon Park Road and open April 1 to September 30. Beach entrance fees are $5 per vehicle registered in Comal County and $20 per vehicle for all others.

Swim Beach #2

You can practically throw a Frisbee between Swim Beach #1 and Swim Beach #2. Both these beach areas are located on Canyon Park Road, right across the street from one another.

Think of Swim Beach #2 as the little brother to Swim Beach #1. It’s not as big—limited to 100 vehicles—but has many of the same amenities. Swim Beach #2 is open on weekends from Memorial Dayto Labor Day, and the same entry fees apply.

Comal Park Beach

Comal Park Beach is one of the largest and most popular beaches on the lake. Located within Comal Park at 1178 Comal Park Road, this beach provides access to some of the best waters on Canyon Lake. You will also find great views.

Amenities inside the park include picnic tables, a boat ramp, parking, restrooms, grills, and much more. Access is available March through October, with an entry fee of $5 per vehicle registered in Comal County and $20 per vehicle for all others.

There are many unofficial swimming holes located all around Canyon Lake and its many parks. For example, North Park is a popular spot for Scuba divers.
